Newspaper Open Call
Current open call: Issue 9 - Digital Residues
Open Call for Artists, Curators & Writers
In an era of technological hyper-acceleration, we leave behind an expanding landscape of digital detritus: obsolete formats, corrupted data, forgotten archives and emotional traces embedded within our screens.
For Issue 9, Digital Residues, JustArt invites artists, curators and writers to examine the blind spots of the virtual world and explore what remains when digital promises of seamless connectivity and permanence begin to fracture.
We are particularly interested in the shifting relationship between human creativity and artificial intelligence. As generative technologies reshape artistic practice, how do we negotiate authorship, agency and creative freedom? Should we defend the boundaries of human craftsmanship, or embrace collaboration with intelligent systems to expand the possibilities of expression?
We welcome submissions that investigate the material, cultural and psychological tensions between human expression and machine learning. From digital decay and forgotten archives to algorithmic aesthetics, technological memory and acts of creative resistance, we invite you to reconsider the remnants of our increasingly automated world.
What does it mean to create, remember and resist in a world shaped by machines?
